Beware iPhone users! XS4ALL has reported that during the last couple of weeks there have been some highly publicised attacks against "jailbroken" iPhones.

A "jailbroken" iPhone is an iPhone which has been hacked to let the user install unapproved software which isn't supported by Apple.

One of the things that ' jailbreaking' does is to install OpenSSH, which is software that lets you access your iPhone remotely using SSH.

iPhones from legit resellers do not come with this software and usually there is no way to remotely access an iPhone. When you combine jailbreaking with an insecure default password from Apple, a huge security risk is potentially exposed.

Jailbreaking is probably not a good idea unless you are fully aware of the risks involved! However, the Internet is full of good advice on how to secure your iPhone and change the default password if you do choose to do it.

A new spam campaign that trys to steal online game usernames and passwords under the disguise of messages from pretty Asian girls containing smutty photos has been reported.

The emails in question have subject lines such as "Do you like to find a girlfriend like me?", and also includes an attached archive file called "my photos.rar". The archive contains photos and videos of young Asian women.

The video files actually contain a password-stealing Trojan called Agent-LVF, which steasl the login credentials of World of Warcraft gamers. The credentials will likely be sold for huge profits on the black market.

If you receive this email, delete it straight away or risk becoming infected!

Above is an example of what's contained in the attachment. The video is really a program that steals usernames and passwords.

Sophos today stated that the all new Windows 7 OS is vulnerable to 8 out of 10 viruses despite Microsoft's claims that it is a more secure operating system.

The good news is that 2 of the newest viruses to arrive in Sophos' labs did not run correctly on Windows 7.

The moral of the story? You still need to run antivirus software under Windows 7.
